Flow Like The Wind

Flow Like The Wind

by: Cristiana Estey

She stumbles into her small apartment, flinging her shoes off at the entrance. She makes her way to a small wooden table and places her apron on top of it. Another night to morning shift. She walks sluggishly to the couch, falling onto it limply. She grabs the TV remote from off the coffee table and turns on the screen. After finding out nothing interesting is playing, she turns off the TV and looks out to her balcony. She smiles softly seeing the peacefulness of nature as the sun has just woken up. She walks over to the balcony’s door and opens it swiftly. As soon as she opens the door, a slight breeze brushes softly against her tired face. She hears birds chirping happily and squirrels climbing the tree’s strong branches. She inhales the fresh morning air and leans against the balcony railing, taking in nature’s calming scent and view. Just then a strong breeze comes over her, flowing through her hair and eyelashes. She closes her eyes and smiles. Soon all this will be over, her hard work will pay off. Soon, she too will be able to flow like the wind.
